New film cameo: Judy Moody (out in theatres today)

judy moody and the not bummer summer, movie posterLos Angeles Times mentions that Eric briefly appears in Judy Moody (trailer), the new kids movie directed by John Schultz (When Zachary Beaver Came to Town, The Honeymooners) that opens in theatres in the U.S. today. Not the best review ever, but here is the relevant bit:

Cartoony and Crayola-bright, the high jinks might entrance very young moviegoers, but for all the shenanigans, which include not only unsafe driving but politically incorrect candy consumption, there’s maybe one or two (half-hearted) laughs in store for anyone over 5.

Grown-up viewers can at least pass the time looking for familiar faces, Eric Stoltz’s among them, in uncredited cameos. — L.A. Times

No idea how brief the cameo is, but it may or may not involve zombies according to this tweet. Dean Cameron is also in the film.

New TV appearance: Leverage season premiere

leverage season fourOkay, I just went over a bunch of behind-the-scenes clips and promotional photos and there is no sign of Eric in any of them, but Aldis Hodge (who plays the tech guy on Leverage) sort of casually mentioned in an interview that he is in the season four premiere. The episode airs on Sunday, June 26 at 9 pm on TNT. That’s a little over two weeks from now.

BTV: You’d be going over my head there. Getting back to the show, can you tell us anything about the season 4 guest stars?
AH: Sure. Everybody knows by now we’ve got the great Danny Glover in episode 4 and 5. We have Eric Stoltz in episode 1, the premiere. We have Mark Sheppard coming back to revisit Sterling, and that’s going to be pretty awesome. We also have… another guest star coming back… We actually have two guest stars coming back. I don’t know if I can talk about those guys. They’re actually from the first season. They’re coming back in episode 11 or 12, possibly. So for the audiences who like to go back and check the history, that’s going to be really fun for them. — Buddy TV

Haunted Summer gets a DVD release date

haunted summer dvd, eric stoltzHaunted Summer is finally getting released on DVD on June 14. From Dread Central:

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s manufacturing-on-demand program continues during the month of June with 29 films being released as part of MGM’s Limited Edition Collection.

Unfortunately only one qualifies as real horror, but there’s another that should appeal to genre fans so we’re including some info on both for your perusal. (…)

Next is the mash-up entitled Haunted Summer from 1988 – Romantic poets Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley, along with Shelley’s future wife, Mary, and her beautiful stepsister, Claire, travel blissfully through Switzerland one summer.

eric stoltz, shelley, haunted summerBoth women share Shelley’s bed, while the tortured Lord Byron flounders in a secret relationship with his physician. They experiment with opium, “free love”, and the nature of good and evil. The events form the foundation for Mary Shelley’s famous novel, FRANKENSTEIN.

This drama is part surreal, part historical – of lust and fantasy, of ecstasy and horror, of the inner strings of creativity. Stars Philip Anglim, Alice Krige, Eric Stoltz; directed by Ivan Passer.

Still not seeing a place to pre-order it, but the film now has its own page on MGM.com, so their store is probably a safe bet.
